connecting students and scientists

Journeys in Science Symposium

Since 2024, with generous support from the Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, the Tulane National Biomedical Research Center has hosted the Journeys in Science Symposium.

This annual springtime event is an opportunity to celebrate and inspire high school students who demonstrate a strong interest in the sciences by connecting them with scientists in a meaningful way.

Nominated students in grades 10-12 from St. Tammany Parish area schools, along with their parents and teachers, are invited for an evening of exploration, conversation, learning and connection with our scientific community. Students gain insight into scientific careers and the varied, and often winding, paths professionals take to find their place within them.
